Communications and languages

According to The National Centre for Languages (CILT) there is no official source giving a detailed breakdown of how many people in the UK have English as a second language but there is a considerable number and each region has their own community requirements.

It is often necessary to produce language versions for health information leaflets or practice newsletters for example. At Design for Health we have experience in translation by using our network of translators. We then design and prepare the versions to incorporate the different lengths of materials. Website language versions can also be a requirement for certain communities.

We can also offer special formats such as braille, large print and audio, in different language versions.

“NHS trusts need to properly understand the ethnic make-up of the communities they serve ...” - Healthcare Commission Chief Exec. Anna Walker. Talk to us about translation services
