  • Sep 09 NHS Brand Guidelines for Dental Practices

Guidance has been developed for dentists providing NHS dentistry, to help introduce the NHS identity consistently.

NHS identity guidelines have been put in place and made available on the www.nhsidentity.nhs.uk site.

The guidelines will help dentists communicate with their patients and local community and identify themselves as an NHS service, integral to the NHS values.

In a pilot programme dentists said that the NHS identity would help:
    • Identify dentists as part of the NHS family, recognising their role in delivering NHS services
    • Attract new, irregular and exempt patients and passers by
    • Dentists to be seen as more caring and more trustworthy by patients

Why introduce the NHS identity into your dental surgery?
    • The NHS brand is recognised by 95% of the general public
    • The NHS brand reassures patients that the services they received would be delivered in line with the credibility and values of the NHS.
    • Using the NHS logo identifies you to the public as an integral part of the NHS delivering key NHS services.
    • Consistent communications materials convey consistency in service and professionalism.

The guidelines are available to download here: www.nhsidentity.nhs.uk
